I used to think that brunch was only a food fad that my grandparents participated in, during the 50's and 60's. However, as I have gotten older, and the trend has grown exponentially in popularity, I am slightly disappointed I didn't pay more attention to it when I was younger.

It’s Nathaniel from TermiNatetor Kitchen and I am back with another tasty Toastimonial. Today I’m sharing my recipe for Turmeric Milk French Toast. Now, if you haven’t had turmeric milk (or sometimes called “golden milk”) before, here is the run down. Turmeric milk is the infusion of either dry turmeric powder or fresh turmeric root into milk. Traditionally, it is an Indian drink most commonly used for treating specific diseases as well as a tonic for general health. It’s a new year, but I’m the same old me, standing here in my kitchen trying to figure out how to give myself a well-balanced breakfast with the least amount of effort. Alas, she was working invisibly as usual, placing me in the path of my destiny in such a way as to make me believe I’d chosen it myself. For avocado and bread are my two favorite foods, and here they were together in one perfect dish bearing the unassuming moniker of Avocado Toast.
Despite having so many activities of obvious precedence, we still have to eat. This is when having a few, foolproof, ready-to-go meals become a necessity. However, as any seasoned veteran of summer time unpredictability knows, you have to be able to adapt. You never know who will be sitting at the table
The amount of times I hit snooze in a single morning is too numerous to count. I actually set my alarm an hour before I need to be up so I have a buffer to hit the snooze button five or six times. True fact. However, in developing this strawberry compote and honeyed mascarpone over toast recipe, I have discovered the cure to my loathing of early mornings.
